General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr Field Support Specialist supporting the Nosis and STRMS Programs. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Installs and repairs equipment; instructs customers in equipment operation; provides technical assistance; checks equipment for malfunctions.
Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.
Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives.
Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization.
Assists management reviewing maintenance contracts and complex system configurations and prepares the field support section of certified proposals
Conducts site, software, and equipment inspections in order to perform installations and preventative and corrective maintenance
Conducts technical seminars and training for customer or company personnel, informal on the job training for other field service staff members and customers, and over-the shoulder/refresher training to users in the field as required
Develops plans and procedures of installation or systems and software
Diagnoses and repairs hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and submits reports on system reliability metrics to technical support centers
Documents failures and corrective action in accordance with proper procedures, and makes technical recommendations based on this collective data
Implements test plans and procedures in accordance with contract requirements for the verification of deliverable system
Leads Field Support input on small proposal efforts
Perform complex technical evaluation and resolve critical technical problems on fielded systems
Performs field activities associated with installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing and servicing of multiple fielded systems/products at customer sites
Recommends design enhancements to internal management and engineering
Represents the company at program and customer reviews
Serves as the subject matter expert working with the tactical customer to accomplish initial installation, configuration and reconfiguration of all software applications
Specific OSHA training such as, 30 hours construction training, may be required as determined by management
Supports Field Support input on large proposal efforts
May be required to be fielded nationally
May be required to deploy and operate with US Forces in CONUS and OCONUS field locations, to include combat zones Travel may be required to world-wide non-field locations
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience with Linux, ORACLE, VMware, Hyper-V, MSSQL, Windows Server 2008 or higher
CompTIA Security Certification
Linux Certification or equivalent training and experience
Experience with VBScript, JavaScript, Windows Scripting, WBEM, .NET, JBOSS a plus
Experience with CANES or PPLAN System Administration or Operating Environments
Use, administration, and maintenance of Nosis and/or STRMS Software Suites
Strong ability to act as a system technical advisor to all levels of customer leadership
Strong organizational and analytical skills as well as practical problem-solving and decision making-skills
Very solid understanding of technologies associated with supported systems
Effectively communicate with managers and teammates
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to meet the physical demands of working in shipyard and shipboard environments
Solid knowledge of basic tool safety
Proficient in of MS Office Suite
Working knowledge of test and diagnostic equipment
Workplace Options:
This position is ON-SITE in Port Orchard, WA
A Hybrid work schedule may be available but will require a minimum of 3 day's per week on-site.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Administration, Information Systems, etc., or equivalent combination of education and experience plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Target salary range: USD $83,500.00/Yr. - USD $90,500.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
