ROLE SUMMARY This position reports directly to the Director, Enabling Finance and is responsible for providing support with FP&A activities for the Legal and Compliance Enabling Functions. Activities include month-end close, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting. The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for helping to manage a combined expense budget across Legal and Compliance of approximately $650M. Candidates should be able to interact with clients to ensure all financial and operational targets are achieved and be able to thrive in a complex, global, matrixed environment and manage competing deadlines and priorities. Ideally, they should have a basic understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and external environment. The successful candidate will have:
Core FP&A foundation established
Reporting and analytical skills.
Establish strong relationships and be comfortable with senior leaders.
Identify solutions and assist with strategy execution.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide support with FP&A activities for the Legal and Compliance Enabling Functions, including month-end close, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Ensure the quality, accuracy and timeliness of the month-end close, monthly reports, accruals, balance sheet reviews, forecasts, and the annual budget/operating plan preparation.
Monitor, track and proactively report business performance, identifying issues, opportunities, and challenges. Candidates should be able to propose solutions once identified.
Prepare and present business results, financial projections, and analyses to support the clients financial and operational objectives.
Assist in the execution of strategies to ensure clients meet or exceed their financial commitments and utilize their resources in the most efficient manner possible.
Ensure an effective control environment, compliance with GAAP and corporate policies and provide support for regular internal and external audits.
Drive and cultivate collaborative relationships with the client and other finance partners to facilitate an understanding of key business drivers.
Participate in change initiatives within the team and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Identify areas of opportunity.
Other Responsibilities could include:
Challenging existing processes and defining new and more efficient solutions.
Assisting with the support of the financial integration of acquired businesses, as applicable.
Assist in the support of all audit efforts (internal and external) and other requirements.
Develop a basic understanding of technical accounting unique to the client group.
Certificates/Security Clearances/Other The annual base salary for this position ranges from $78 000,00 to $130 000,00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10,0% of the base salary. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
MBA or CPA preferred
2 - 4 Years' Experience (accounting and business finance - FP&A, financial modeling, template creation, etc)
Able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, and identify areas of opportunity for positive change
Developing Business Operations / Acumen - Learning how the business works; knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the business; working to develop an understanding of the financial implications of operational decisions
Continuous Improvement Mindset
Strong communication and influencing skills
Strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities, and systems knowledge (SAP, Mosaic)
