JOB SUMMARY: Weld Process Tech role is a permanent role within the welding department. Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of welding processes with strong aptitude in mechanical equipment operation and fabrication. Candidate has knowledge in how to lead others on the team through various Kaizen projects, internal/external projects and activities as assigned by supervisor and weld ME. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and maintain process work instructions.
Work with manufacturing engineering & leads to resolve process/line issues.
Create and maintain process control programs for manual arc welding stations.
Work closely with Mfg. engineering making recommendations for process improvements.
Owns and supports welding equipment and related process technology.
Departmental liaison for problem solving related to department processes and tooling.
Track & post updates to action items on Tier board regularly. Distribute information accordingly to get resolution and update documentation.
Manage special projects utilizing suppliers, engineers, and planners supporting department goals.
Work with Tool & Die and Manufacturing Engineering to create tooling changes as needed for process improvements.
Work closely with quality department in problem solving.
Work closely with the safety department to identify top opportunities & facilitate activities to improve our safety environment.
Facilitate meetings towards problem resolution.
Travel availability for tooling run off at vendor.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE (Minimum requirements to apply):
2-year manufacturing experience required
Work with minimal supervision while providing a high level of output.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel
Excellent organizational skills
Preferred: 2-year technical degree and/or the following: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro-E/Creo knowledge a bonus.
