NIAC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, engaging, and celebrating the Iranian-American community. NIAC Action, the 501(c)(4) sister organization of NIAC, is dedicated to building political power for the Iranian-American community to advance peace and diplomacy, secure equitable immigration policies, and protect the civil rights of all Americans.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications Director will be responsible for leading all external communications & marketing activities for NIAC and NIAC action, including press and public relations. This role will drive the organizations’ work as it pertains to brand and messaging among the Iranian-American community, Washington policy community, and broader American public, telling the story of our work and priorities through digital media, traditional media, and direct public engagement. This role will report to the Executive Director.
This is a hybrid position (part remote work/part in-person work) and preference will be given to candidates based in the Washington, DC area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communications Strategy
Create and implement NIAC's communications strategy that includes robust digital communications and traditional media plans.
Press & Media
Develop and execute NIAC’s press strategy, including specific strategies for key campaigns and events.
