National Life Group is Hiring a Product Owner – Digital Platforms Near Addison, TX

We are looking for a talented Product Owner to join our Digital Platforms team. The Product Owner facilitates execution of strategic initiatives within the digital domain, typically web and mobile platforms, with the goal to increase the use and adoption of digital experiences that create value by driving satisfaction and competitive differentiation while creating internal efficiency, scale, growth and mitigation of risk.
The Product Owner is responsible for delivery and execution of strategic programs and utilizes best practices to improve service offering through knowledge of: (i) internal process, (ii) external customer experience and (iii) business vision and strategy. The Product Owner represents business stakeholders; he/she will elicit, understand, analyze, document, refine and communicate business needs so that delivery teams can build leverage existing solutions where possible and maximize business.
The Product Owner is the business requirements expert and day to day decision maker providing continual guidance for the delivery team. The Product Owner leads a Scrum team with minimal guidance and engages across the business to ensure alignment around key dependencies.
The Product Owner is aware of business and technology strategies that affect their domain and collaborates broadly to prioritize and align features, enhancements and defects across the enterprise. While this position does not have direct reports, the Product Owner leads product, release, and sprint planning activities and both directs work and manages feature completeness and acceptance testing. He/She is accountable to ensure that established business value, cost, time, and quality goals are met with a focus on maintaining performance metrics for the project objective and measuring against said metrics.
The Product Owner prepares the business for the change and arms them with tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk. He/she must be able to bring together a diverse stakeholder group, drive consensus and decision making, and create a shared understanding between the customer(s), both internal and external as applicable, and the solution delivery team. He/She continually drives product development towards a meaningful balance between customer needs, business objectives, resource utilization, and technical feasibility. May serve as coach and mentor to other team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required. At least three years of relevant professional experience working with business technology systems preferred.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum and Lean environment in a Product Owner role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in web and mobile platform strategies and ecommerce solutions; experience with digital marketing, social media and digital customer engagement preferred.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX best practices. Experience and practice with Design Thinking methodologies is ideal.
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and recommend action plans to resolve issues.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills; design-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to write detailed business requirements/user stories for Agile/Scrum team to execute.
  • Influencing and delivering in an environment with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and represent the priorities of key stakeholders, including business value of technical enablers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of the Microsoft office software applications and Atlassian agile toolset
  • Experience in Financial Services, Fin-Tech, or Insurance industry preferred, but not required
The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
