National Park College is Hiring a Director of Workforce and Continuing Education Near Hot Springs, AR

National Park College is currently seeking a full-time Director of Workforce Training and Continuing Education. This position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and administration of workforce training programs and continuing education courses as well as the Advance Manufacturing Technology Institute (AMTI) and corresponding grants. This position plays a key role in aligning educational offerings with the needs of local industries, supporting workforce development initiatives, and promoting lifelong learning opportunities within the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with industry partners, employers, and community stakeholders to identify workforce needs, emerging trends, and skill gaps
  • Lead the design, development, marketing, and evaluation of curriculum for workforce training programs and continuing education courses, ensuring relevance, rigor, and alignment with industry standards
  • Develop and manage budgets for workforce training and continuing education programs, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient resource allocation
  • Coordinate and supervise all AMTI grant administration and deployment of grant activities
  • Communicate with grant contacts to ensure compliance with record keeping and reporting requirements
  • Supervise Workforce Specialist, Continuing Education Specialist, and AMTI instructional team
  • Represent National Park College to the community through public relations activities and direct involvement in the community
  • Establish and maintain alliances with other organizations to promote the AMTI and its activities
  • Create and lead the workforce advisory committee to ensure regional needs are identified and met
  • Host regional meetings focusing on innovative technologies aligned with Manufacturing 4.0
  • Supervise coordination and planning for all training opportunities for grant partners
  • Stay current on innovative technologies as they relate to grant initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion at all times
  • Other duties as assigned or required by the grant and the Community and Corporate Training Division
Preferred skills/abilities:
  • Expertise in collaborating with community and state officials on projects related to innovative technologies
  • Experience in manufacturing industry and/or workforce development
  • Demonstrated success in sales and marketing
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and over the phone
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline; master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum five years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum five years of experience in sales and/or marketing
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods of standing at times
  • Prolonged screen time
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
