Where You Will WorkThe NRO Office of Mission Operations Directorate (MOD) Overhead Collection Management Center (OCMC) requires a highly skilled Engineer to be a part of the Daily Mission Tasking Team The position is located within the Overhead Collection Management Center (OCMC), a jointly manned activity operating on behalf of the Intelligence Community, headquartered at Fort Meade, Maryland. OCMC works to optimize current and prepare future accesses to meet intelligence requirements by using a highly-skilled diverse workforce by embracing and advancing automation, innovation, partnerships, and effective business processes. OCMC execute Collection Management Authority (CMA) and performs specified collection operations for specified accesses. OCMC is jointly resourced by the National Security Agency (NSA) and NRO with oversight from the ODNI. What You Will Be Doing
Prioritizes satellite tasking, develops methods to increase coverage on customer requests. Forecasts orbital nodal positions and directs based IC resources across national constellations
Leads resource allocation & positions for 1.8K high-level tasks ensuring satisfaction of POTUS-driven & notional defense intelligence requirements
Guides and instructs section training aids and overview briefs; ensures most accurate data for DV site visits & continuity efforts
Serves as NRO Overhead Access Liaison; consults w/global SMEs for insight on adversary operations, strategic deterrence, crisis events, military exercises and development of leading edge technology.
Coordinates openings in overhead coverage for specialized/unique testing of emerging technology used to support warfighters.
Delivers respective prioritization on coverage for global multi-domain military combat exercises to enhance, tune, and test equipment used by ISR constellation
Actions real-time priority movements to assist with short duration global crisis events for multi-national/agency missions
What You Need
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field such as engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, or computer science
Demonstrated expertise in Space Systems Operations or Space Systems Engineering
Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clearly and concisely, engage with personnel at all levels (both internal and external to the organization), brief management on decisions and trade space
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, team members, customers and organizational officials
Ability to plan, organize, evaluate, and conduct thorough and objective analysis of complex issues to include assessing the effectiveness, economy, and efficiency of resource utilization
Impeccable integrity, discretion, and ability to work with very sensitive information
Ability to travel occasionally to the field

LocationFort Meade, MD SalaryThis position meets the qualifications for Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS) STEM pay for NRO Cadre employees and candidates as authorized by the office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security’s (OUSD(I&S)). Cadre employees and candidates are eligible to receive STEM pay if they are currently serving in a STEM designated position. Should a Cadre employee or candidate earning STEM pay change positions within the organization, they must be assigned to another STEM qualifying position in order to continue to remain eligible for STEM pay. Otherwise, Cadre employees and Candidates Generally would be transitioned to the DCIPS GG Pay Scale.
