We seek dedicated people who believe they have the skills and ambition to succeed at NREL to apply for this role.Job DescriptionThe scope of this role is to develop and deliver training to NREL workers via In-Person Classroom Training, Web-based educational models, and corresponding software tools. This individual will serve as the lead on developing ESH&Q’s Learning Management System (LMS) online training utilizing Captivate. The person will also be responsible for developing strategies and technologies, in collaboration with the Learning and Development team, that leverage digital media to instruct and educate NREL staff and workers. This role also participates in the overall lab-wide strategy of facilitating and enhancing ESH&Q learning as a business advantage for the laboratory.
  • Design and develop both classroom and Web-based training programs and courses, including all course materials, exercises and skills evaluations.
  • Coordinate and maintain NREL’s e-learning offerings in conjunction with facilitator-led offerings within the LMS by posting and updating training content, course materials, assessments, job tutorials, job aids, etc.
  • Create learning content or pull existing content into SCORM-compliant publishing tool.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team, program owners, and front-line managers to assess ESH&Q learning needs as dictated by the Laboratory’s mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with various NREL groups to coordinate, procure, develop, maintain, and evaluate course materials, software applications and teaching tools.
  • Present classroom, instructor-led training sessions, particularly acting as a back-up for New Employee Orientation.
  • Create, administer, analyze, and report on end-user feedback.
  • Recommend and integrate training improvement strategies based on findings.
  • Review and update training materials and documentation.
Basic QualificationsRelevant Bachelor's Degree and 9 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree and 7 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant PhD and 4 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant JD and 4 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards. Considered internal subject matter expert. Extensive knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field. Excellent leadership, project management and problem solving skills. Ability to use various computer software programs.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)Job Profile: Professional IV / Annual Salary Range: $95,500 - $171,900
