This individual will serve as the lead on developing ESH&Q’s Learning Management System (LMS) online training utilizing Captivate. The person will also be responsible for developing strategies and technologies, in collaboration with the Learning and Development team, that leverage digital media to instruct and educate NREL staff and workers. This role also participates in the overall lab-wide strategy of facilitating and enhancing ESH&Q learning as a business advantage for the laboratory.
Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)Job Profile: Professional IV / Annual Salary Range: $95,500 - $171,900
NREL takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.

- Design and develop both classroom and Web-based training programs and courses, including all course materials, exercises and skills evaluations.
- Coordinate and maintain NREL’s e-learning offerings in conjunction with facilitator-led offerings within the LMS by posting and updating training content, course materials, assessments, job tutorials, job aids, etc.
- Create learning content or pull existing content into SCORM-compliant publishing tool.
- Collaborate with the Learning and Development team, program owners, and front-line managers to assess ESH&Q learning needs as dictated by the Laboratory’s mission, goals, and objectives.
- Collaborate with various NREL groups to coordinate, procure, develop, maintain, and evaluate course materials, software applications and teaching tools.
- Present classroom, instructor-led training sessions, particularly acting as a back-up for New Employee Orientation.
- Create, administer, analyze, and report on end-user feedback.
- Recommend and integrate training improvement strategies based on findings.
- Review and update training materials and documentation.
- Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.
