Flagger Instructor Location: Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia Job Summary: We are looking for a qualified Flagger Instructor to provide high-quality training on safe and effective flagging operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as a flagger and possess the ability to teach others about flagging safety and techniques specific to Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver flagger training courses in accordance with OSHA, MUTCD, and state-specific regulations for DC, Maryland, and Virginia. - Teach proper flagging techniques, including how to safely stop, slow, and direct traffic. - Emphasize the importance of flagger safety and the safety of the traveling public. - Conduct both classroom and field training sessions, adapting methods to suit the learning needs of trainees. - Assess and evaluate trainees' performance, providing constructive feedback and additional instruction as necessary. - Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices, including local requirements. - Maintain training records and prepare reports as required. Qualifications: - Certification as a Flagger Instructor through recognized organizations (e.g., ATSSA, NSC). - Hands-on experience as a flagger and understanding of flagging operations. - Knowledge of OSHA, MUTCD, and state-specific regulations related to flagging for DC, Maryland, and Virginia. - Excellent communication and instructional skills. - Ability to engage and instruct a diverse audience, including construction laborers and maintenance workers. - Strong commitment to safety. - Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
