Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Instructor Location: Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia Job Summary*: We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Instructor to deliver comprehensive training courses on temporary traffic control and work zone safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traffic control management and a deep understanding of federal, state, and local regulations in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver MOT training programs, ensuring compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and other relevant regulations specific to DC, Maryland, and Virginia. - Provide instruction on the design, implementation, and maintenance of traffic control plans for road construction, maintenance, and utility work. - Teach best practices for maintaining worker and public safety in work zones. - Conduct classroom and field training sessions, using a variety of instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs. - Assess and evaluate trainees' performance, providing feedback and additional instruction as necessary. - Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, including local amendments and requirements. - Maintain training records and prepare reports as required. Qualifications: - Certification as an MOT or Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) instructor through recognized organizations (e.g., ATSSA). - Extensive experience in traffic control management and planning. - In-depth knowledge of MUTCD and other relevant standards for DC, Maryland, and Virginia. - Strong communication and presentation skills. - Ability to engage and instruct a diverse audience, including supervisors, project managers, and engineers. - Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. - Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
