Job Title: Programs Fundraising Sr Manager

Department: Fund Development

Reports to: Director, Fund Development

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $72,000 - $85,000

Band: Level 5

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our organization as a Manager of Fund Development for NSBE Programs and the Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) Summer Camp. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of fundraising strategies with a specific focus on programs and the SEEK initiative. The primary objective of this position is to achieve an annual fundraising goal of $3 million to support the organization's mission and expand its impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Steward funding for all existing NSBE programs included, but not limited to, in order of priority;
    • SEEK (Summer Engineering Experience for Kids)
    • SEEK International Virtual
    • NSBE Jr (scholarships, programs, etc.)
    • National Leadership Institute
    • Pre-Collegiate Initiatives (PCI)
    • Collegiate (engineering career academy, integrated pipeline program, etc.)
    • Professionals (SIGS, certifications, etc.)
  • Manage funding for programmatic events at conferences including
    • Mini conference (graduate student conferences, technical professional conference, etc.)
    • Annual convention
    • Professional Development Conference, Aerospace conference sponsorship
    • Fall Regional Conferences
  • Oversee and/or facilitate all partner and community engagement functions of the SEEK program including
    • Manage all of SEEK’s partner engagement – year-round communication, data analytics, newsletters, etc.
    • Explore partnerships with HBCUs to host SEEK
  • Facilitate business development to engage with non-typical partners (those who are not in the NSBE ecosystem and have not heard of SEEK).
    • Manage the budget and long-term funding strategy for SEEK indirect costs including staff and operational support.
    • Mobilize SEEK sponsors to support SEEK staff development.
    • Develop and manage a SEEK pipeline to funnel mentors into STEM careers.
  • Steward programs partner onboarding, partnership experience, and renewal/ close-out.
  • Manage program funding reconciliation (pass-through allocation, fund collection).
  • Steward program partner reporting and data needs. Track program partner data and metrics.
  • Represent programs in all funding needs and funding conversations.
  • Create and maintain Partnership Guides to communicate benefits, programs, FRC, and National Partnerships.
  • Monitor and report-out on fundraising metrics and movement towards achievement of goals.
  • Manage restricted grants and support grant writing and research, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in development, marketing, business, education, or another related field.
  • Several years (5 or more years) of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  • Experience developing strategic fundraising plans.
  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector, understanding its unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Proficiency in writing grant proposals and securing funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
  • Understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation in a nonprofit setting.
  • Cross-departmental leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Access) and project management software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to establish and maintain relationships (internal and external) is extremely important.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to move the organization and mission forward.
  • Comfort and confidence working under the pressure of deadlines and multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.

TRAVEL:

Travel is required for the Annual National Convention, Fall Regional Conferences, National Transition and Leadership Conferences. Occasional travel to other conferences, chapters, and other industry- related events may be required and assigned by management.
