Title: Part-time Pediatric Speech Language Therapist

Location: Washington, DC and Maryland (primarily virtual with potential on-site services)

  • Speech-Language Pathologist Opportunities: We are also looking for full-time speech-language pathologists for our Washington, DC, and Maryland locations. Services are primarily virtual but may also be provided in other locations within the district. Job Overview:
National Therapy Center seeks a dedicated and compassionate Full-time Pediatric Speech Language Therapist to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing comprehensive speech and language therapy services to pediatric clients, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support each child's progress and well-being. The position involves 90% on-site services at schools or daycares as a contractor and 10% potential office clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric clients to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, setting realistic goals and timelines.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based speech therapy interventions, including exercises, activities, and modalities to enhance communication skills and overall language function.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, and ABA therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Family Education: Educate and support families in understanding their child's condition and participating in the therapy process to promote carryover of skills at home.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards in the provision of speech therapy services, maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advances in pediatric speech therapy through ongoing education and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Washington, DC, and Maryland.
  • Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and techniques.
  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and feeding difficulties.
  • Early intervention experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing family-centered care and supporting the diverse needs of our clients.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
