Job Title: HR Generalist 

Department: Human Resources 

Report Line: Reports to HR Manager

Currently, we're seeking a detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. Responsibilities include overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department, including pay administration, benefits, leave management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and practices. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage employee relations, addressing concerns, conflicts, and grievances.
  • Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility. 
  • Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. 
  • Maintain accurate HR records, including personnel files, HRIS data, and employee documentation. 
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture. 
  • Administer HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, investigations, performance management, talent development, safety, and training. 
  • Responsible for timely, accurately, and compliantly processing the bi-weekly payroll. Audit and process payroll documents. 
  • Processes employee Time & Attendance data to payroll and reconcile variances. 
  • As the Employee Benefits expert, administers all employee & volunteer benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). 
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes. Responds to benefits inquiries on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, and status changes. Enrolls employees with carriers and processes life status changes. 
  • Works with HR benefit partners for escalated support needs, including but not limited to plan design, claims administration and appeals, COBRA, retirement administration, and HRIS data integrity. 
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance. 
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. 
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze data for improvement. 
  • Participate in performance management activities, including employee development planning. 
  • Assist in managing administration of and adherence to human resources policies and procedures; advice on compliance with key legislative requirements. 
  • Coordinate training needs assessment and participate in training activities and special projects. 
  • Manage assigned HR projects. 

Requirements and Skills: 

  • An Associate degree plus 4 to 5 years of similar human resources experience is required, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. 
  • Experience in Payroll & Benefits. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant employment law, regulations, and practices, to include employment, compensation, employee relations, and performance management. 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Proficiency in HRIS and talent management systems. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification. 

Salary: Based on experience.
