Responsibilities
- Maintains assigned area as a welcoming respite for families, providing amenities such as reading materials, clean toys, diversional resources, and fresh snacks.
- Answers questions and concerns of families, providing education regarding needed resources and other health-related topics.
- Coordinates with hospital departments to ensure families have access to necessary resources and services.
- Assists families with the use of available department amenities and services.
- Collaborates to plan and implement departmental events and programs. Identifies opportunities for the growth and improvement of the family experience.
- Provides volunteer training and coordinates volunteer involvement.
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent work experience in similar program.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, friendly, compassionate, and able to relate to diverse groups of people.
- Superior problem solving skills, judgment, and ability to keep a level-head in stressful situations.
- Multi-tasker who is self-motivated and able to perform a variety of job responsibilities, from leading volunteers to assisting a family to performing minor housecleaning and repairs.
- Excellent dependability for covering the shift.
- Experience with compiling / monitoring written and statistical reports via computer systems, and attention to detail through administrative processes such as checkin/checkout and data entry for House function s.
