Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking is Hiring a Combined US Operations Controls Specialist Near New York, NY

As part of the ‘Combined US Operations Governance & Control Framework’ Team (CUSO GCF), the CUSO Controls Specialist reports into the Head of CUSO Governance & Control Framework (CUSO GCF Head) which sits in the CUSO Secretary General department, and supports them in the oversight, management and maintenance of the CUSO Control Framework including reporting to the CUSO Senior Management and governance committees.

The main duties of the CUSO Controls Specialist are as follows:

  • Develop and update the CUSO Control Framework related documentation (policies, procedures, methodologies)
  • Ensure CUSO Business Lines (CIB Americas, NIM US) adherence to the CUSO Internal Control standards, and assist CUSO Business Lines in their day-to-day control management activities as necessary
  • Identify, assess and implement control framework improvements including Quality Assurance control framework, in collaboration with CUSO Risk & Secretary General functions and business stakeholders in the U.S. Platform and at Head Office
  • Prepare and distribute ‘business as usual’ and ad hoc reports on CUSO Business Lines control results (Level 1 and Level 2) and material corrective actions progress, including reports to CUSO Senior Management and to the US Risk Committee
  • Coordinate with Head Office Permanent Control Framework stakeholders within Secretariat General, Risks and Finance to ensure alignment with the Global Control Framework
  • Develop a training plan and provide training on the CUSO Control Framework
  • Liaise with Head Office and US IT and businesses on control management tool enhancements when needed

In addition, the CUSO Controls Specialist plays a key role in the Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) Framework:

  • Actively participate to projects related to the GRC Framework, especially in relation to Controls
  • Ensure controls related data of the GRC ecosystem are relevant and accurate
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of GRC documentation in relation to Controls

The CUSO Controls Specialist also supports the CUSO GCF Head in managing ad-hoc queries/requests from the US General Secretary, US Chief Risk Officer and from the regulators in relation to Controls.

To achieve his/her/their duties, the CUSO Controls Specialist coordinates with CUSO Risk & Compliance Business Lines (CIB Americas, NIM U US), CUSO functions including the Regulatory Affairs Department, and Head Office Risk & Compliance functions. He/she/they also participate and contribute to existing CUSO Business Line committees to ensure proper governance of the Control Framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of experience in a Risk & Compliance function, Control function or Internal Audit in the financial services/banking industry, with exposure to senior management preferably in both CIB and Investment Management activities
  • In depth understanding of the regulatory environment and its impact on the bank risk management and strategy
  • Previous work in a global, highly matrixed business environment or in an international bank operating in the US is a plus
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills to successfully interact with various internal and external stakeholders including senior management
  • Detail oriented with ability to synthetize information when needed
  • Client focused and ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence and confidence
  • Ability to challenge, identify and solve problems

The salary range for this position will be between $150,000 - $200,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
