Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking is Hiring a Credit Risk Analyst FIG Latam Near New York, NY

The VP- or Director level Credit Risk Analyst – FIG Latam will be primarily responsible for the LatAm Financial Institution’s portfolio, which includes banks, broker/ dealers, insurance companies and pension funds. Accordingly, fluency (written and oral) is essential in both Spanish and English.

The Credit Risk Analyst position will be part of the Financial Institutions Risk team, which covers banks, insurance companies, broker/ dealers, and pension funds for the Americas. The Credit Risk team is considered the second line of defense at Natixis, and accordingly, the focus will be on the counterparty assessment of the Credit Requests (mainly Trading) and the formulation of a written Risk Opinion, which may be presented to Credit Committee.

He/she/they will be responsible for providing analysis on Financial Institutions for the US, Canadian and LatAm banks, Insurance companies, broker/ dealers, and pension funds; the role will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Prepare written risk opinions and analysis; articulate a convincing case in support of the risk opinion; and challenge the First Line of Defense analysis when appropriate
  • Present to Senior Management and Credit Committees when required
  • Conduct client due diligence calls or visits when appropriate; professionally represent the bank with clients
  • Recommend Credit terms and conditions within Trading Documentation
  • Stay connected with industry trends and macro issues which may impact the portfolio; be able to recommend changes or action impacting specific clients or groups of clients.
  • Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment in which each of our counterparts operate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college required in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other business-related discipline. Graduate degree preferred, but not essential.
  • Must be fluent (written and oral) in Spanish and English
  • Minimum 3-5 years of previous credit experience that has preferably included the review of trading limits to financial institution counterparties.
  • Previous experience in a financial institution a plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to identify and concisely describe the potential risk(s) and positive attributes of each request, with the ultimate goal being to support the business while avoiding undue risks and credit loss.
  • Familiarity with due diligence and analysis requirements for counterparties and capital markets products.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while understanding when to involve other team members as needed and to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication (written, oral and listening) and interpersonal skills. Skillful written communication is essential: the ability to convey thoughts clearly and succinctly and to communicate pertinent complex information in a clear and organized manner.
  • Proficient in MS Office products including extensive knowledge of MS Excel

The salary range at the VP-level for this position will be between $145,000 - $180,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.

The salary range for at the Director-level for this position will be between $185,000 - $225,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
