RVT for Natomas Veterinary Hospital

Natomas Veterinary Hospital is a growing practice transitioning into new innovative hospital that is adapting to the needs of the ever changing community. The existing staff are very hard working and a family-oriented group. We maintain pride in providing the best possible client and patient care for our amazing clients and patients!

We are looking to expand our staff with experienced RVT looking for a full time opportunity to showcase their skills and continue to grow with an innovative practice that genuinely cares for all of their patients like our own!

Currently we are limiting our search to applicants with solid foundational skills including venipuncture, anesthetic monitoring, general nursing, administration of medications, client education, etc.. All candidates must be able to work some weekend shifts.

We have a particular need for an RVT with experience and interest in surgical procedures.

Veterinarian Technician Job Responsibilities:

Ultimately taking ownership of the daily incoming appointments as your own patients that you are responsible for under the Veterinarians care.

• Provides animal care by determining animal requirements.
• Conducts treatments and diagnostic procedures.
• Assists during operations.
• Feeds and cares for animals.
• Maintains supplies and equipment.
• Maintains records.
• Takes vital signs and collects samples.
• Administers medications, drugs, and vaccines.
• Bandages and wraps wounds.
• Supports animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
• Explains animal status to owners.
• Prepares surgery table instruments.
• Completes local/regional anesthesia.
• Places catheters and obtains blood gases as needed.
• Maintains sterile conditions.
• Obtains and verifies medications.
• Cleans animal cages and equipment
• Maintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations.
• Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
