**Essential Job Functions**
*The incumbent must be able to perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.*
* Train, inspire, motivate, manage, lead, develop, encourage, and schedule 2 store team members
* Exercise discretionary authority, prepare reports, and hold self and team accountable for performance measures and execution of organizational initiatives
* Create an environment of kindness and empathy towards pets and pet parents
* Consistently communicate our commitment to holistic pet wellness
* Provide guests with an exceptional experience
* Overall management of store operations
* Share product knowledge and suggestions to fit customer needs and promote pet health
* Perform front-end duties such as handling the cash register, bagging, replenishing merchandise, and preparing displays
* Coach and lead Team Members to provide an exceptional guest experience and achieve sales goals
* Oversee all aspects of inventory such as merchandise replenishment, inventory, adjustments, weekly cycle counts, store transfers, RTVs, and shipment processing
* Organize special store events and promotions in store
* All other assigned duties by any member of the Retail Management Team
**Qualifications**
* Must be 18 years or older
* Passion for extraordinary customer service and the well-being of pets
* At least 2 year of previous retail sales experience
* At least 1 year of retail managerial experience
* Willingness to be educated about the products and services offered
* Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require evening and weekend shifts
* Time management and organizational skills
* Proven written and verbal communication skills
**Physical Demands**
* Position requires person to be both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry out)
* Majority of day is spent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
* Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals including small and large dogs
* Must be able to work around pet hair and dander
