Nature's Path is Hiring a Maintenance Technician- SIGN ON BONUS $2,500 Near Blaine, WA

Currently Hiring for: 

Wednesday-Saturday nights 6:00PM-6:30AM $1.50/hr shift differential between 6PM - 6:00AM 

 Wage Range: $30.93-$41.80/ hour DOE

Depending on experience, individuals may be hired at Technician levels 1-2 and job duties will align with the respective level they are hired at. 

Maintenance Technicians I performs preventative maintenance that include setting up, adjusting and repairing all types of equipment in order to allow the organization to consistently meet our standards for quality, cost, and food safety by:

  • Responding to production floor maintenance calls from machine operators on a variety of equipment. 
  • Performing assigned maintenance tasks as well as machine breakdown tasks to ensure continuous production.
  • Attending and participating in crew transition meetings, as well as daily transition meetings with other Maintenance Technicians. 
  • Reading blueprints, instruction manuals, and mechanical drawings. 
  • Using meters, measuring instruments, callipers, etc.
  • Reworking and rebuilding mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on 480 volt 3 phase system to include blown fuses, repairing and rewiring motors, under qualified supervision.
  • Set up and operate all types of production equipment and machine tools such as, but not limited to, lathes, mills, welder, make or rework required machine parts.
  • Perform basic PLC troubleshooting

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • PLC training or certification (or completion within 1 year of hire)

Experience

  • 6-12 months experience as a maintenance technician or mechanic; work history in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven team-focused attitude; experience with self-directed teams desirable
  • English, both verbal and written

Tech II:

  • Performing all of the job functions of a Maintenance Tech I
  • Welding and fabricating of machine parts when necessary
  • Troubleshooting, repairing and replacing motor variable frequency drives
  • Reworking and rebuilding mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Managing projects assigned by Nature's Path leadership to completions on or before due date
  • Ability to schedule and write all work orders, PM and parts ordered with iMAINT. proficiently
  • Performing basic PLC troubleshooting under qualified Maintenance Tech III
  • Sanitary tig welding
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and policies
  • Follow all QA procedures as set forth by natures Path Foods
  • Setting up and safely operating all types of production equipment and machine tools such as, but not limited to:
    • lathes, mills, welder, make or rework required machine parts, extruders, ovens, conveyers, gearbox, bucket elevator, packing machine basics
  • Knowledge of basic safe work procedures and maintenance shop procedures
  • Keep clean job site and tools
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • PLC training or certification (or completion within 1 year of hire)

Experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience as a maintenance technician or mechanic; work history in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven team-focused attitude; experience with self-directed teams desirable
  • Leadership experience 
  • Experience supporting an environment of diversity and respect at all levels of an organization
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and written in the English language

Tech III:

  • Perform all the job functions of a Maintenance Tech I & II
  • Programming and troubleshooting of PLC’s, HMI and industrial computers.
  • Install and calibrate all instrumentation not limited to but to include all scales and
    temp.
  •  Ability to input all work orders and PM, parts orders with IMAIT Proficiently.
  •  Read and understand blueprints and manuals, electrical schematics, machine layout.
  • Mentor and train Tech I & II to build bench strength in the maintenance department.
  •  Participate in and champion projects assigned by the maintenance lead.
  •  Manage projects assigned by Nature’s Path leadership to completion on or before
    due date.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct all controls on equipment within the facility.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities as assigned by maintenance
    manager
  • Sanitary tig welding
  • Plumbing
  • Perform LOTO, Confined Space and Hot Work permits when required
  • Setting up and safely operating all types of production equipment and machine tools
    such as, but not limited to, lathes, mills, welder, make or rework required machine
    parts.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certificate in HVAC, Instrumentation Tech, or other relevant field
  • PLC training or certification (or completion within 1 year of hire)
  •  Electrical experienced tradesperson or apprentice

Experience

  • 6-10 years’ experience as a maintenance technician or mechanic; work history in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven team-focused attitude; experience with self-directed teams desirable
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills required; must be detail-oriented
  • Experience leading by example to support an environment of diversity and respect at all levels of an organization
  • Strong safety awareness; basic understanding of OSHA as it relates to manufacturing
  • Experience in forklift operations required; other large equipment preferred
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a mechanical understanding of machinery
  • The ability to communicate and understand verbal directions effectively and efficiently in English, both verbal and written
