RequirementsQualificationsThere is a Basic Requirement to hold a GS-0801 position in the federal service. See the "Education" section of this announcement for details. To qualify, in addition to meeting the Basic Requirement, your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing professional engineering work using knowledge of physical science fields such as geology, chemistry, ecology, and environmental science to perform the following: 1) Providing technical direction, oversight, or guidance to junior personnel involved in engineering work. 2) Supporting a program for the improvement, repair, and maintenance of fuel facilities. 3) Serving as a technical representative on studies, inspections, surveys, design reviews, and/or other engineering / technical duties. 4) Making decisions concerning the repair and design of fuel facilities. 5) Developing detailed specifications for improved fuel handling systems. 6) Reviewing plans for construction of petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) facilities to recommends improvement for more efficient fuel movement. 7) Conveying technical information orally and in writing to personnel with a varying level of technical knowledge. There is no educational substitution for experience in this series at this grade level.
