Headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Navarro has active programs in place across the nation for DOE/NNSA, NASA, and the Department of Defense.

  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PrHA) and Control Decision at 30%, 60% and 90% design of both the Infrastructure and the Process Module design.
  • Prepare and review the PDSA as requested by the Nuclear Safety team lead.
  • Prepare and review draft Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) as requested by the Nuclear Safety team lead.
  • Prepare and review nuclear safety accident analysis calculations in support of project safety basis development.
  • Prepare, review and interface with the authors on support documents including but not limited to, Dispersion Analysis, Dose Consequence Calculation, and Hazard Categorization Calculation
  • Support development and reviews of; Failure Modes Evaluation Analysis (FMEA), Functions and Requirements Evaluation Documents (FRED), Safety System Requirement Evaluation Documents (SRED) and Instrument Requirements Evaluation Documents (IRED).
  • Submit work products in accordance with the Mater Submittal Register.
  • Interface with the ORP review team and provide responses (written or verbal depending on the venue) to their comments/questions.
  • Provide written responses to Lines of Inquiries from the Defense Facilities Nuclear Safety Board (DNFSB) staff as directed by the Nuclear Safety Manager.
  • Prepare and review the Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) as requested by the Nuclear Safety team lead.
  • Prepare and review Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) as requested by the Nuclear Safety team lead.
  • Submit work products in accordance with the Mater Submittal Register.
  • Interface with the ORP review team and provide responses (written or verbal depending on the venue) to their comments/questions.
  • Provide written responses to Lines of Inquiries from the Defense Facilities Nuclear Safety Board (DNFSB) staff as directed by the Nuclear Safety Manager.
  • A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in a related field with Nuclear Safety experience in preparing and defending nuclear safety basis documents. Twenty years’ nuclear safety experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience pertaining to DOE nuclear Hazard Category 1, 2, and 3 facilities, hazards analysis and accident analysis.
  • Experience preparing Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis, Documented Safety Analysis and Technical Safety Requirements and working with DOE standards DOE-STD-3009-2014 and DOE-STD-1189-2016.
  • At least one candidate, in addition to the above qualifications under 12.1, shall have minimum of 10 years’ experience with nuclear safety hazard analysis, including identification of facility hazards, potential accidents, and selection of safety controls to protect facility workers, co-located workers, and the public.
  • At least one candidate, in addition to the above qualifications under 12.1, shall have minimum of 10 years’ experience preparing accident analysis calculations, including atmospheric dispersion analysis, radiological and toxicological dose consequence calculations, and hazard categorization calculations.
