Naviga Inc. is Hiring a VP of Operations Near Bowling Green, KY
- Oversee daily operations, including managing 16 drivers, 1 dispatcher, and 1 accounts payable staff
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and operational improvements
- Analyze current trucking runs to determine profitability and make recommendations on retaining or discontinuing routes
- Create and deliver quotes, negotiate contracts, and secure new business
- Foster relationships with existing and potential clients, including taking them to lunches or golfing to strengthen connections
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies
- Monitor and manage fleet maintenance, ensuring all 16 trucks are in optimal condition
- Explore opportunities to diversify the types of goods transported, currently 95% aluminum
- Report directly to the owner and collaborate on strategic planning and business development
- Proven experience in operations management within the trucking or logistics industry
- Strong background in sales and business development, preferably in the aluminum or manufacturing sectors
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to analyze financial data and operational metrics
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel within a 300-mile radius for client meetings
- A self-starter with a results-driven attitude and a knack for problem-solving
