Job Title : CNA - Correctional Health
Shift : Day shift, 7 : 00 am 3 : 30 pm
Length of Contract : 13 weeks (Extendable)
Location : 780 House Correction Rd, Jessup, MD 20794
Weekly Guarantee : 40 hrs
Summary : The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Correctional Health provides compassionate patient care within a correctional facility setting.
Responsibilities include assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring their health status, and ensuring compliance with medical protocols.
Key Responsibilities :
- Providing exceptional patient care with empathy and respect.
- Responding promptly and effectively to patient calls, assessing needs, and providing appropriate assistance.
- Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, walking, and exercising.
- Turning and repositioning bedridden patients to prevent bedsores.
- Ensuring patients receive meals according to dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
- Gathering information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses regarding patient conditions, treatment plans, and recommended activities.
- Recording and reporting food and liquid intake, as well as urinary and fecal output, to medical or nursing staff.
Requirements :
- Valid CNA license issued by the state of Maryland.
- COVID vaccination card.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience :
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care setting.
- Experience working in a correctional environment is required; experience in substance abuse treatment is preferred.
- Familiarity with opioid treatment program compliance protocols is advantageous.
