Position: Epidemiologist
Location: Jefferson City, MO

Remote: Allowed after proficiency approval; Mondays and Tuesdays in office until proficiency approved
Work Hours: Maximum 40 hours per week

Role Brief: The Missouri Wastewater Surveillance Program team is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Epidemiologist. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring data from multiple sources, maintaining and updating databases, and performing rigorous data cleaning and analysis to identify trends or patterns in weekly time-sensitive wastewater datasets. Your insights will be crucial for informing decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acquire data from various sources and maintain comprehensive databases.
• Perform data cleaning and analysis to identify trends or patterns in weekly wastewater datasets.
• Update internal and public dashboards on a weekly basis.
• Interpret trends or patterns to inform decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Continuously improve data management processes and analysis techniques.

Required Skills:

• Experience in statistical analysis and proficiency with statistical software such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL.
• Experience with or ability to learn Tableau for data visualization.
• Experience with or ability to learn REDCap for data management.
• Strong data management and analysis skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently within program policy.
• Proficiency with various computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video-conferencing tools, and online survey platforms.
• Must have home internet access.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree (substitutions may be allowed).
• Demonstrated ability to use technology effectively for coordinating activities and project reporting.
