Shift Schedule : 5 shifts per week, rotating weekends

Training Requirement : Completion of a training program approved by the Division of Nursing

Certification Requirement : BCLS Required

Experience Requirement : Previous experience as a Nurse Aide or PCT required

Job Description :

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital.

As a PCT, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients under the supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate.
• Perform routine procedures, such as blood glucose monitoring, specimen collection, and urinary catheter care.
• Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed.
• Provide basic wound care and dressing changes under the direction of nursing staff.
• Respond to patient call lights promptly and address patient needs and concerns in a compassionate manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, including regular room cleaning and disinfection.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and enhance clinical skills.

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a training program approved by the Division of Nursing.
• BCLS Certification required.
• Previous experience as a Nurse Aide or PCT required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
