Job Description:

Calling all First-Time Travelers! We're seeking a skilled and experienced RNFA to join our team and make a real difference in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide first surgical assistance during a variety of procedures, including general surgery, orthopedics, spine surgery, thoracic surgery, and urology.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and ensure a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments and equipment.
• Monitor patient vital signs and document their condition accurately.
• Perform post-operative care as directed by the surgeon.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RNFA, preferably in a teaching hospital setting.
• Prior experience in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center is a plus.
• Experience working with the Epic electronic health record system is preferred.
• Previous experience as a charge nurse is a benefit.

Certifications

• Required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications.

Surgical Experience

• Experience performing first assist duties in general surgery is mandatory.
• Strong experience in one or more of the following specialties is highly desirable: Orthopedics, Orthopaedic Spine, Thoracic Surgery, Urology.

Additional Requirements

• Fire Safety Training is required.
• COVID-19 Vaccination (including current booster shot) is mandatory with no exemptions.
• Flu vaccination requirements are currently unknown (please inquire during the application process).
