Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will coordinate nursing care for patients of all ages, participate in patient and family teaching, and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The RN will also take calls and respond in a timely manner. This role involves floating between ICU and Med/Surg units as a C1 or C2 RN. The RN is seen as a role model, exhibiting the Behavioral Standards and Customer Service expectations of War Memorial Hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a Med Surg unit.
• Participate in patient and family education.
• Collaborate with ancillary nursing and other healthcare team members to maintain high standards of nursing practice.
• Float between ICU and ER as required.
• Respond promptly to calls and provide timely care.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Special Skills: Pediatric experience required.
• Flexibility: Comfortable floating to ICU and/or ER.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Michigan LARA Registered Nurse License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
