Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Infection Control RN to serve as the Hospital Infection Preventionist and implement the Hospital Infection Control program. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors within the Emergency Room unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infection Control Program Implementation: Serve as the Hospital Infection Preventionist, implementing and managing the hospital's infection control program.
• Collaboration and Communication: Communicate effectively with hospital leadership, various departments, and the public regarding infection control policies and procedures.
• Confidentiality and Independence: Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate the ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision.
• Regular Attendance: Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location.

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in using personal computers and various software programs relevant to the position.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements:

• Extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Significant use of personal computer, phone, and general office equipment.
• Adequate visual acuity and ability to grasp and handle objects.
• Effective communication skills for reading, writing, and speaking in person or by telephone.
• Potential off-site travel requirements.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Epidemiology, or related field (or the equivalent).
• Experience: Five (5) years of experience in healthcare, with progressive experience in the field of infection prevention.
