Position: Technical Project Manager

We are seeking a skilled SAP PP-APO Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP Production Planning (PP) and Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO), providing expertise in both configuration and support for manufacturing operations. This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site and remote work, with three days a week in the office.

• SAP Production Planning (PP):

  • Configure all aspects of PP for new rollouts.
  • Support and maintain existing PP configurations across all manufacturing plants.
  • Manage in-house production processes, including receipts, consumption, and transfers.
  • Utilize Recipes/Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Integrate PP with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

• SAP PP-DS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling):

  • Provide detailed scheduling and process order scheduling.
  • Schedule orders on production assets.
  • Manage co-products/by-products and drag-and-drop scheduling on extruders.

• SAP APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization) Demand & Supply Planning:

  • Handle production batches and use the APO planning board.
  • Perform asset capacity planning.

• Technical Design and Implementation:

  • Facilitate design discussions to align with business needs using SAP best practices.
  • Independently gather business requirements, design technical solutions, and configure/implement solutions.
  • Create detailed design documents and functional specifications for business approval.
  • Consult with ABAP developers to provide technical specifications for RICEF solutions.

• Testing and Support:

  • Manage unit testing of changes in development and testing environments.
  • Perform regression testing for impacted functionality.
  • Provide ad hoc training and consulting to business users.
  • Support system-related activities, including configuration changes, SAP ECC upgrades, and project implementations.
  • Address continuous improvement requests proactively.

• Project Management:

  • Consistently meet target dates for assigned tasks, contributing to on-budget project delivery.
  • Maintain system reliability as defined by service level agreements.
  • Ensure successful delivery of IT enhancements and project demands.
  • Utilize Ascend project management practices and tools for tracking information.
  • Follow Ascend methodology to ensure development lifecycle and control processes are adhered to.

• Extensive experience in SAP PP and APO modules.
• Proven track record in configuring and supporting SAP PP for manufacturing plants.
• Strong knowledge of in-house production processes and integration with MES.
• Expertise in PP-DS for detailed scheduling and order management.
• Experience with APO demand and supply planning, including asset capacity planning.
• Ability to facilitate design discussions and implement solutions based on business requirements.
• Strong skills in creating design documents and functional specifications.
• Proficiency in managing unit and regression testing.
• Effective communication and consulting skills for business user support.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and system reliability.
