Math Teacher Job Description

Role

The Math Teacher is responsible for creating strong relationships with students, families, community members, and partners. The Math Teacher serves a variety of roles to successfully guide the development and delivery of Indigenous and experiential curriculum. Roles include administering classroom operations and activities, meeting district requirements, managing classroom and school supplies, and collaborating with peers. Our staff works as a team to provide exceptional Indigenous and experiential education to help youth develop their minds, hearts, bodies, and spirits.

Duties

• Develop and implement alternative language arts curriculum that incorporates Indigenous pedagogy, cultural focus, and experiential learning.
• Provide culturally relevant education and services to primarily at-risk Native American students in grades 7 through 12.
• Create curricula and programming to enhance experiential learning, field trips, leadership development, and life skills training.

• Teach classes during specified hours.
• Create space in classrooms for students to work on projects during non-specified hours.
• Leading and participating in experiential learning such as field trips and community activities.
• Create classroom expectations and manage classroom activities and behaviors.
• Record attendance and update grades on Infinite Campus.
• Attend staff meetings and school events.
• Keep the supplies and technology in the classroom, and wider school, in good order.
• Request to purchase supplies for your curriculum and classes using the school account and reporting expenditures with proper paperwork and receipts.
• Maintain and model healthy, clear, and consistent communication with students, staff, parents/guardians, community members and partners.
• Complete special education assessments and attend IEP meetings for students as needed.
• Be flexible and open to assisting other staff when necessary.

• Complete professional development and training as required.
• Fulfill duties as a mandated reporter.
• Keep up-to-date on required teaching credentials/licensure.
• Participate in weekly PLC and ILT meetings.

Salary Range : $50,000 to $55,000

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
