NC Department of Adult Correction is Hiring an Administrative Officer III Near Anson, NC

Description Of WorkAdministrative Officer III This position is pending reallocation from a Correctional Officer III to an Administrative Officer III. ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Warden IV, this position is responsible for administering and managing the complete business and human resource management functions at Brown Creek Correctional Institution. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Managing and supervising budgets, accounting, human resources, canteen, clothes-house, mail-room, and trust fund. Assigning and monitoring the work efforts of subordinate staff.
  • Planning and monitoring budgets, approval of expenditures, purchasing of supplies and equipment, inventories, establishment and monitoring of temporary employees and personal service contracts, fiscal audit functions, canteen, mail-room, and warehouse/clothes operations. Overseeing human resource operations to include hiring, benefits, timekeeping, FIORI, and staff disciplinary actions.
  • Enforcing all State administrative policies and procedures pertaining to the operation of a correctional facility and ensuring all areas of supervision comply with the administrative practices of the Department of Adult Correction and applicable State regulations.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits .
Note To Current State EmployeesThe salary grade for this position is NC13. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
About Brown Creek Correctional InstitutionBrown Creek Correctional Institution is located in Polkton, North Carolina and houses up to 916 male offenders in a minimum custody facility.

Supplemental and Contact Information Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 19,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving the lives and property of its citizens through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry. DAC uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position.

This is in addition to submitting fingerprints during the application process.
