Description Of WorkIf you desire a rewarding career that has a great work/life balance with benefits, please apply today!The NCDAC / Support Services / Regional Maintenance is recruiting for an energized and collaborative oriented Administrative Specialist I to be a part of the South-Central Region Maintenance Team. This position reports to the South-Central Region Maintenance Yard located in Asheboro, NC and will be tasked with a variety of clerical tasks associated with the administration and operation of the maintenance yard completing general preventative maintenance and like-in-kind Force Account system replacements.
A successful candidate for this position will be tasked with processing mail, receiving and directing service requests from field personnel, entering, tracking, and receiving purchase orders, ordering general office supplies, entering maintenance work orders, performing accounts payable actions, tracking and requesting office equipment service contracts, tracking asset inventories, checking time reports and entering data in FIORI, reconciling vehicle mileage logs, and be able to work independently to complete work assignments received by a supervisor. The work schedule is Monday – Friday and may require some overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization.
This is a full-time position ((40 hours per week) with State Benefits .

  • Demonstrated experience in two or more general administrative tasks: entering, receiving, and reconciling purchase orders; receiving and reconciling budget expenses; receiving and processing vendor invoices; and processing personnel travel reimbursements.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products and other administrative software.
  • Demonstrated experience with compiling and assimilating organizational information and successfully explain and interpret that information to clients, customers, and staff.

It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving the lives and property of its citizens through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry.
The Support Services Division manages various operations across agency facilities statewide, which include maintaining facilities, managing fleets, and ensuring offenders receive proper nutrition.
