Description Of WorkAs part of the Division of Rehabilitation and Reentry, the Rehabilitation Services section is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring correctional interventions for offenders in facilities. The goals of the section include promoting public safety, improving offender behavior, and reducing re-offending by successful reentry back to the community. Utilizing evidence-based practices as the foundation of all programs and services, offenders are prepared with skills and tools to live as productive members of the community.
The section focuses on a full continuum starting with research and decision support analysis, delivering evidence-based offender programs and services in the major areas of employment readiness, religious and faith-based opportunities, cognitive behavioral programs, educational support, vocational/skill training, family services and parenting programs, and more. The section also maintains responsibility for oversight of digital programming, primarily meaning tablet-based rehabilitative resources in the hands of incarcerated individuals.
The major purpose of Assistant to Director of Rehab Services position is to provide administrative assistance and office management services. This position also has responsibility for general typing, word processing, correspondence and record management setting up and maintaining files, database maintenance, telephone communication, as well as greeting and directing visitors’ and staff, and other general administrative/secretarial duties. The individual will be required to manage inquiries that come to this office when the Director is not available to ensure that important issues are referred for appropriate response. This position attends frequent meetings.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Routinely processing confidential and sensitive information, which requires a high degree of discretion and professional sensitivity
  • Establishing appointments, making reservations, assisting with purchases, preparing for Division or Section events, and arranging transportation needs
  • Locating management, should they not be in the office, in cases of emergencies or other situations that may arise and/or manage inquiries that come of this office to ensure that important issues are reviewed for appropriate response
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits . Note To Current State EmployeesState employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
About The DivisionRehabilitation and Reentry is a division within the Department of Adult Correction. The division provides the continuity of services to individuals who have been incarcerated or are transitioning to the community. Division staff work collaboratively with internal prison staff, Community Supervision (PPO) staff and Local Reentry Councils developing, implementing, and monitoring correctional and reentry interventions for justice involved individuals.

  • Experience providing administrative management services and office support in a business environment
  • Experience compiling, reviewing, memos, letters, spreadsheets and/or data using correct grammar, organization, and structure
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applying basic data collection, storage, and file organization
  • Experience using the Office 365 Products ( such as, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and Adobe Pro in performing daily functions
