Description Of WorkReporting directly to the Correctional Captain II, this position will provide supervision for subordinate staff regarding their assigned tasks with male offenders in a Medium Custody State Corrections Facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

About The NC Department Of Adult Correction (DAC)DAC is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance and Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs and Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation and Reentry.
About Richmond Correctional InstitutionRichmond Correctional Institution is located in Hoffman, North Carolina and houses up to 420 male offenders in a medium custody facility.

- Conduct shift line-up, make shift assignments and inspect personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned Post.
- Conducting investigations and perform searches of persons, places and objects.
- Responsible for completing, reviewing and maintaining time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations and administrative forms.
- Makes security inspections of the facility and grounds.
- Monitor Posts to ascertain that officers are alert, that discipline is being maintained and that assignments are carried out properly.
- Perform rescue functions to include CPR, basic first aid, physically removing people from dangerous areas and using firefighting equipment to include fire hoses, extinguishers and breathing apparatus.
- Responsible for identifying training needs and coordinates delivery of training to subordinate staff
