NC Department of Adult Correction is Hiring a Plumber II Near Stanly County, NC

Description Of Work NOW ELIGIBLE FOR A $7,000 SIGN ON BONUS! To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, the candidate must not have worked as a probationary, permanent, or time-limited employee in the last 12 months as an employee subject to the State Human Resources Act. ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV, the primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, alter, and repair plumbing systems and components at the journey level of the plumbing trade. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Possessing working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of commercial plumbing, as well as safety precautions of the plumbing trade.
  • Using power tools associated with plumbing trade, cutting and threading pipe, utilizing motorized and mechanical tools, and being familiar with building, life, and safety codes.
  • Soldering copper pipe and utilizing the standard tools and materials required for those types of procedures.
  • Making material list(s) for projects and submitting to supervisor for review.
  • Making up lead joints and installing various types of plastic pipe, also knowledge in replacing stainless steel and porcelain plumbing fixtures.
  • Supervising semi-skilled male offenders and subject to emergency call back.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits .

Of Adult Correction (DAC)The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance and Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs and Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation and Reentry.

This is in addition to submitting fingerprints during the application process.
