The Challenge
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance/Construction Technician III to join our team covering Alamance, Orange, Guilford, Caswell, & Rockingham Counties.
In this role, you will:
    • Apply your knowledge of building codes and perform at the journey level in 2 trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, or plastering).
    • Work at other facilities across the region.
What You Bring
    • Excellent knowledge of building codes.
    • Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in general maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
    • Working knowledge of the methods, principles, and techniques used in the maintenance including electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, roofing, locks, windows, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
    • Experience supervising the work of skilled or semiskilled contractors.
    • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and estimate repair costs.
    • Computer experience preparing and maintaining routine records and reports.
Notes
    • Unscheduled overtime may be required during building emergencies.
    • This position is subject to emergency call backs to assist with building emergencies after hours and on weekends/holidays.
    • You will need to work during bad weather conditions (e.g., snow/ice storms).
    • We may require you to become certified by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician.
Education & Experience
    • High School/GED Diploma, and
    • 2 years of relevant experience in complex mechanical or building trades, and
    • 2 years experience at the journey level associated with 2 trades; or
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
