POSITION: NDSCS Foundation Executive Director

LOCATION: NDSCS –Wahpeton, North Dakota

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 12-month, benefited position

JOB SUMMARY: To support and assist those activities that develop and strengthen the North Dakota State College of Science. Report directly to the NDSCS Alumni Foundation Board, but also works with the NDSCS President, to develop strategies in fundraising channels to include but not limited to direct mail, Internet, email, workplace giving, telemarketing, mid-level giving and estate and planned giving. This position will work closely with the current Executive Director for a period of approximately one year for a smooth transition.

Directs and leads adaptations to current strategies and practices in accordance with these changes and as necessary. Provides vision and direction to build and manage a full-scale development program. The Executive Director of the Alumni Foundation will also be involved in the strategic planning process and other strategic decisions for the entire organization.

Develops and implements a fundraising plan for each channel to achieve short-term and long-term goals. Develops annual fundraising budgets. Identifies, cultivates, solicits and expands the number of individual annual, mid-level, and planned giving prospects and donors. Provides analysis and reporting on the overall performance of fundraising against goals and strategic plan. Stays apprised of advancements and changes pertinent to fundraising and development profession.

Benefits

NDSCS offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes single or family health insurance coverage with premiums paid for by the College – with an effective date for new employees the first of the month following the date of hire. SALARY: $74,000 - $140,000, commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements

  • 7 years of fundraising and development experience in a progressively responsible leadership position, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, overseeing operational and performance outcomes.
  • Significant experience supervising and managing a diverse and geographically distributed team with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, delegate responsibility, and inspire, engage and motivate staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s or above in Accounting, Business Administration, Communication, Development, Economics, Education.
