NDI Engineering Company is Hiring an Inventory Management Specialist Near Philadelphia, PA

Inventory Management Logistics Support

NDI Engineering Company is seeking a full-time Inventory Management Logistics Support person to join our team in Philadelphia and supporting the US Navy Engineering Test Site.

The candidate should have an understanding and/or have Navy inventory and supply support procedures and processes in an industrial environment (Navy experience a plus).The candidate should be proficient in reading and following procedures, exceptional configuration control track changes, and be organized and punctual in maintaining excel trackers and report documents.

The candidate will be proficient in working with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe.

A willingness to learn and collaborate in high-involvement work team environment.

Job Responsibilities

  1. The employee shall be on-site during working hours with particular responsiveness during the core NSWCPD hours between 0900 and 1430. The contractor must communicate in advance (when possible) when they will not be able to provide on-site support.
  2. The employee shall understand the urgency of material, tooling, and spare parts requests from building personnel, and participate in reliable manning of supply support to carry out these requests.
  3. The employee shall communicate with the supply team daily with job related updates to include project progress, roadblocks, and any inventory changes/discrepancies.
  4. The employee must communicate and coordinate with Engineers, Shop personnel, and Maintenance Managers on maintenance task schedule, material/tool available, and additional required resources.
  5. The employee shall participate in process reviews and updates of the Planned Maintenance System Material and Tooling Inventory, and maintain an accurate and current inventory MS Excel based database of all stored line items.
  6. Employee must have experience with excel to update daily inventory database.
  7. Employee must have experience developing metrics and reports from excel databases.
  8. The employee shall be responsible for timely notification of low stock items, shelf life issues, and any damaged or missing material. They shall use knowledge of MS Excel to efficiently report on stock levels and other relevant database information.
  9. The employee shall plan for inventory expansion and long term program support and communicate any strategies to department personnel.
  10. The employee shall conduct Facility Spare Parts List validations and updates and provide process feedback from the floor level to supply support team members.
  11. The employee shall validate all incoming spares procurements with buy lists and quotes, coordinating with vendors and external parties. Employee will communicate any discrepancies with department personnel.
  12. The employee shall assist in procurement market research. The employee is to use accounts created in DoD supply tool systems such as Deckplate, MBPS, WebFLIS, NAVSUP OneTouch, FedMall, and the System for Award Management as well as any company provided research tools.
  13. The employee shall participate in quote solicitation and vendor information gathering for material and parts buys and provide any findings to team members through established procurement processes.
  14. Manual labor is required for transporting material to designated storage locations.
  15. Keeping designated storage locations organized.

Minimum Requirements

Must be a US citizen and able to qualify for a DoD Secret clearance.

High School diploma, Technical School Certificate desired by not required, or related Military experience.

Estimated five (5) years of experience as an engineering technician supporting Navy Hull, Machinery & Electrical systems/equipment; estimated two (2) of those years shall demonstrate experience working with logistics documentation supporting supply programs or projects.

This work is NOT remote. Working at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center (Philadelphia, PA) is required.

Good verbal and written communications skills along with ability to implement feedback from engineers, follow work instructions and work somewhat independently are highly desirable traits.
