Applications Engineer
The Application Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing packaging solutions tailored to meet the specific requirements of customers. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and manufacturing, to design and optimize packaging solutions.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaboration with Sales Team: - Identify customer needs and develop appropriate packaging solutions. - Participate in the pricing evaluation of the solutions.
2. Design and Development: - Create innovative packaging concepts. - Provide technical expertise and support to the customers and sales team during the implementation of packaging solutions.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration: - Collaborate with teams such as sales, production, procurement, and R&D to meet project objectives.
KEY TASKS
1. Business Acquisition Management - Coordinate activities with cross-functional teams. - Ensure proper production and quality control processes with manufacturing teams. - Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
2. Development of Packaging Solutions - Design packaging solutions based on customer requirements. - Utilize CAD software for detailed packaging specifications. - Conduct cost analyses for optimal packaging solutions. - Evaluate prototypes and confirm alignment with customer specifications and cost calculations.
3. Customer Collaboration - Work closely with customers to understand their packaging requirements. - Provide technical expertise and support in selecting suitable packaging solutions. 4. Cross-functional Collaboration - Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, quality control, and sales teams. - Address technical challenges, incorporate feedback, and optimize designs.
5. Technical Support - Serve as a technical resource for customers, sales teams, and production staff. - Assist with troubleshooting product or packaging issues.
6. Feasibility studies - Evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of proposed packaging solutions. - Analyze material costs, manufacturing capabilities, transportation considerations, and environmental impacts.
7. Continuous Improvement - Monitor market trends, technological advancements, and industry best practices. - Identify areas for improvement and explore innovative packaging techniques.
8. Documentation and Communication - Develop technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience in the packaging industry, preferably in a technical or engineering role.
