What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Technology and Design Specialist position at Nebraska State College System?
Nature of Work
Work closely on campus with faculty and professional staff members to provide consulting and direct project support to research and develop learning objects through complete courses and effectively utilize technology to facilitate instructional processes. Work with course launches, quality review, system maintenance, enhancement, and help-desk troubleshooting. Research and demonstrate use of instructional and emerging technologies as well as effective instructional practices. Will advise faculty on key issues, including course management, assessment methods, testing strategies, integration of media and technology into curricula, accessibility criteria, academic integrity, and effective teaching strategies for blended and online delivery. Provide backup support to Director-Academic Technology and Instructional Design for Canvas including monitoring the help phone, managing student evaluations, and providing classroom technology support. This position is exempt with regard to FLSA overtime provisions. This position is covered by the NSCPA negotiated agreement. This is not a remote position.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree and experience as an instructor and/or in course design in an academic or training setting (may include online course development and delivery experience); experience working with and maintaining a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas, etc.); experience troubleshooting basic issues with computers and presentation hardware; proficiency in web development tools and multimedia applications; and, knowledge of online and hybrid course design principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using formal quality review techniques (e.g., Quality Matters) preferred.
