Necsel IP, Inc (a Division of Ushio America, Inc). – at our ISO 13485 qualified Vermont location – is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to join our team as an Electrical/Electronic Engineer. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is interested in challenging work and wants to make a difference as a part of a fast-paced team. The successful candidate will be collaborating with mechanical, optical and other electrical/electronic engineers to develop cutting edge minimally-invasive electrooptical medical devices as well as LED and laser-based illumination products. In addition to design and development, the successful candidate will work with the team to improve existing products and production processes. If you are interested in an exciting team-based atmosphere and have a strong desire to grow professionally, this may be the opportunity for you.

The Electrical/Electronic Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing electronic control systems for complex electro/opto/mechanical devices
  • Generating schematics, BOMs and layouts for PCBAs
  • Testing, debug and validation of electronic systems
  • Designing, creating and debugging embedded control firmware and test software
  • Ensuring electronics and firm/software implementations meet regulatory requirements
  • Working closely with mechanical, optical and other electronic and firmware engineers to produce overall system designs
  • Maintaining the standard of documentation required for high-reliability medical devices; ISO 13485
  • Planning, performing and documenting validation testing to demonstrate compliance with product and regulatory requirements
  • Working with Production and Manufacturing Engineering to capture work instructions and assembly details on new and existing products and assisting in the resolution of product faults and customer complaints
  • Generating and reviewing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as necessary and attending ECO meetings when requested
  • Interacting with customers to develop customer/product requirements, discuss project activities and address technical concerns
  • Providing input to generate proposals and customer quotations

The Candidate is expected to:

  • Communicate effectively, professionally, and respectfully with customers and suppliers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

5 years of experience in:

  • Interpreting and creating schematics and BOMs
  • performing electronic design validations, both analytical and empirical
  • understanding electronic components and circuits, both digital and analog
  • control systems using embedded microprocessors
  • schematic capture and layout tools (Altium preferred)

Preferred experience:

  • Working with medical devices and ISO 13485 qualification
  • Experience with drivers and control circuits for LEDs and lasers
