Responsibilities

- Sets up, operates or tends to machines that apply wet coatings to plastic films, papers, foils and other miscellaneous materials according to specifications and instructions.
- Monitors equipment and performs product testing per procedure ad compile results.
- Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
- Adjusts set up and process operations accordingly.
- Follows coating formulas to weigh and prepare coating solutions for application to substrates
- Inspects and examines printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications and external defects.
- Ability to test coat weights and functional properties after coating to ensure quality product
- Load raw material into machine and unload finished product.
- Perform tests ad check product routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices and making some judgements against not readily measurable standards.
- Examines job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times and stock specification.
- Verifies dimensions of specifications.
- Visually monitors machine and processed materials.
- Responsible for checking all information on production orders and completing quality checks on each job.
- Must be able to prepare coating solutions per instructions.
- Must be able to load and unload materials on and off coating machine.
- Entering data into a computer.
- Maintain daily log sheets.
- Keep work area, machines, tools and equipment clean in orderly condition.
- Comply with safety program ad company rules and procedures.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- One to three years of related experience and/or training (required)
- Previous coating experience (required)
- Must have working knowledge of the use of a PC and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Mechanical aptitude is a must
- Ability to reach and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals.
- Working knowledge of chemistry is preferred used in the mixing of the coating batches.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
