Mid-Level CEI Inspector – Railroad

Neel-Schaffer, an Engineering News-Record Top 200 Design firm with offices and/or major projects in nine states, has an immediate need for an experienced Mid-Level CEI Inspector – Railroad to join our growing engineering firm. This position will be based in the Ironton, Louisiana area, which is just south of New Orleans.

This position involves skilled Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) field work, specifically in railroad inspection. The Mid-Level CEI Inspector - Railroad will work on railroad/transportation focused construction projects and act as part of a team with other inspectors. The Mid-Level CEI Inspector - Railroad must be familiar in the use of SiteManager, railroad inspection, and keep neat and thorough notes relative to inspection and documentation of a construction project.

Education and/or experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering with 5 years of experience or Technician with at least 10 years of related experience.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in Construction Engineering and Inspection on construction projects, specifically railroad or railroad inspection required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills (i.e. written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills are required
• The following Certifications are preferred:
• FRA Certified
• 10 HR OSHA
