The Holistic Care Assistant will assist with appointment management, patient flow, record keeping, patient education, and miscellaneous duties in the Chiropractic and Acupuncture Departments.

Responsibilities

• Corresponds with patients regarding services, payments categories, and billing procedures via in-person or telephone
• Assists patients by scheduling appointments and/or directs walk-in/emergency patients according to established policies and procedures
• Assesses incoming phone calls to determine the correct course of action based on caller information and needs, including making referrals for other services
• Verifies all services provided are properly documented to ensure accurate billing
• Contacts patients that missed their appointments to reschedule for a better time
• Documents and communicates patient issues or compliant to site management
• Assists chiropractor/acupuncturist with patient education, posture screenings, and other chiropractic activities

Qualifications

Education/Experience 

• High school/GED required
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• One year medical, chiropractic, or acupuncture assistant experience preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) or (English/Arabic) preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Knowledgeable about and experience with electronic medical records
• Knowledgeable about and experience with medical terminology and triage procedures
• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent planning and organizational ability
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs/weight

Pay range: $22.00 - $28.75 per hour, depending on experience.
