The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will provide training, mentoring, and supervision to social work interns to support Neighborhood Healthcare’s strategic plan to develop behavioral health hiring pipelines. This role will meet with individuals and families to provide brief behavioral psychotherapy services to patients and consultations primary care providers using an integrated care model. This position is fully onsite. 

Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

  • Provides short term targeted psychotherapy for problems identified by primary care providers
  • Performs initial and ongoing behavioral health assessment to develop patient care plans
  • Evaluates patients to identify social, emotional, and economic factors which may interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care
  • Provides brief psychotherapy to patients and families
  • Addresses and factors co-occurring disorders into patient’s care plan
  • Responds promptly and with caring actions to patients and employees
  • Provide crisis management and psychoeducation for patients and families
  • Conducts “warm hand offs” at medical provider requests
  • Acknowledges and honors patients’ psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural beliefs
  • Utilizes BHC staff protocols for referral, follow-up, and quality assurance
  • Provides weekly clinical one-on-ones and group supervision to Associate Social Workers, as assigned

Provider & Team Support

  • Consults with primary care providers about behavioral aspects of their patients’ medical treatment
  • Contributes to the success of the organization by participating in quality improvement activities
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and the public
  • Cooperates in accomplishing department goals and objectives
  • Participates in case conferences, trainings, and departmental or agency meetings, as directed

Social Work Intern Field Supervisor

  • Completes Student Learning Agreements and Comprehensive Skills Evaluations as required by learning institutions
  • Conducts one-on-ones, group supervision/case consultations and didactic learning sessions with interns on a weekly basis
  • Provides ongoing constructive feedback on the student’s performance and their areas for growth and progress
  • Orientates students to procedures, policies, mission, documentation requirements, personnel, and safety issues
  • Completes Social Work Field Instructor Training courses, as required
  • Consults with Social Work Field Faculty/Liaison regarding learning agreements, performance issues, and integration between field practicum and course work

Regulatory Compliance

  • Follows BHC protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Provides personal information and participates in the credentialing process with managed care companies
  • Attends continuing education programs offered to upgrade professional skills and maintain licensing requirements
  • Documents legible and legally defensible medical records

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in social work required
  • Valid CA Licensed Clinical Social Worker License required
  • Valid BLS certification from approved American Health Association provider required upon hire
  • Two years’ post licensure psychotherapy experience with children, adults, and/or adolescents required; child/adolescent experience required
  • Experience providing health psychotherapy services, such as smoking cessation, weight management, stress management, or work with chronically medically ill patients
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Additional Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Knowledgeable about and experience with displaying of normal signs of human development and ability to assess and provide age-appropriate care
  • Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team within medical care. 
  • Ability to operate one or more word-processing, spreadsheet, and/or electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to do some charting simultaneously while in session
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing, legible handwriting, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent planning and organizational ability
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry 10 lbs/weight
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Salary range: $104,271-$126,168 annually, depending on experience. This position is eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus!
