Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Hybrid Near Phoenix, AZ

Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health (NOAH) is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive, integrated, and affordable high-quality healthcare services to underserved populations. Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for NOAH’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proficient with payroll software (Paycom preferred).

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required
  • 2 years of processing payroll for a medium to large-sized organization required
  • 1 years of benefit administration experience preferred

Other Requirements:

  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
