Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable, and cost-effective on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure solutions, including servers, networking devices, storage systems, virtualization and cloud platforms.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, processes, and cloud services to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of the infrastructure, and support current and future business needs.
- Manage and administer physical and virtual servers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security and migrate on-premises workloads to the cloud where applicable.
- Configure and maintain networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls.
- Monitor the performance and capacity of the infrastructure, identifying and resolving any issues or bottlenecks proactively.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's data and infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to design and implement integrated solutions that meet business requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in infrastructure architecture, system administration, and cybersecurity.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in a System Administrator role preferred.
- Proven experience in designing and managing IT infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud with strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and services.
- Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), virtualization technologies (VMware), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls).
- Experience with storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and backup solutions.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
