Overview

Nelson Mullins, AMLaw 100, is seeking a Director of Marketing to join its team in Atlanta GA, Columbia SC, Charlotte NC or Greenville SC offices. As the Director of Marketing you will play a pivotal role in shaping the brand identity and fostering business development initiatives for our firm. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you will oversee all aspects of marketing, communication, and public relations, both internally and externally. Collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Chiefs, Directors, Committees, and Firm Leaders will be essential to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.

You demonstrate a cohesive blend of creativity, strategic innovation, and project management skills while leading a team of 20-50 employees including Videographers, Graphic Designers, Event Planners, and Communication Specialists.

A Day in the Life

The Director of Marketing will lead the department and regularly engage with firm leadership to coordinate marketing efforts. This position requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in marketing and public relations, capable of driving brand growth and fostering client relationships in a fast-paced environment. Drawing upon your experience, you will develop annual department goals, budgets, and marketing plans to drive the firm's growth agenda forward.

Within the Marketing Department, the Director will manage firm communications, technology applications, social media platforms, and the firm website.

The marketing department is responsible for event planning, firm retreats, client events, and tradeshows. Planning involves budget management, vendor contractor negotiations, organizing logistics, and event personnel.

In your capacity as Director, you will lead efforts to develop and execute comprehensive brand positioning strategies across firm, practice, industry, and office levels. Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting and implementing marketing campaigns tailored to specific target audiences through various mediums. Additionally, you will manage public relations activities, including media relations, interview coordination, submissions, and client/partner surveys.

We Know You

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and public relations, with a focus on strategic planning and execution. Strong project management skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and marketing tools such as CRM systems and social media platforms are essential.

Pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on experience: $225,000 to $275,000 (annually). Employees in this role will have the option to elect various benefits, including medical, dental, vision, accidental death and dismemberment, life insurance, dependent life insurance, long term disability, long-term care insurance, health savings accounts (if enrolled in an HDHP), health/dependent care spending accounts, 401(k).
