What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graduate Admissions Counselor position at Nelson University?

Position Overview:
In consultation with the Dean and Assistant Dean of NGS, the Graduate Admissions Counselor is responsible for effectively presenting accurate information about the university to prospective students. The Counselor provides helpful correspondence with prospective students and assists them through the application process to matriculation. Responsibilities may include traveling to events to represent the University.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored communication to all applicants advising them of required admissions documentation necessary to complete their admissions record.
2. Build and maintain positive, customer service-oriented relationships with all applicants.
3. Respond to all inbound communications in a timely manner.
4. Network with graduate faculty and personnel to keep current on the status of all graduate degrees and requirements.
5. Develop cohesive working relationships with the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid Office, Student Billing Office, Undergraduate Admissions, and SAGU Online.
6. Perform a variety of general office duties to include creating and organizing files in the digital filing system, attending meetings, serving on various committees and working on office projects.
7. Assist in attracting and maintaining a diverse student body consistent with the college's goals and objectives, which may require some travel.
Organizational Relationships
1. Enrollment Counselors are supervised by the Assistant Dean of NGS.
2. Serve on University committees as appointed by the University.
Qualifications:
1. Candidate must be a committed Christian, living a Spirit-filled life, and an active attendee of an Assemblies of God church.
2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
3. Excellent organization, collaboration, and communication skills.
4. Ability to work as a collaborative member of a team.
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
6. Excellent written communication skills.
7. Possess a strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) and grammar.
