Nemours Children's Health is Hiring a Behavioral Health Therapist, School-Based Health Centers Near Wilmington, DE

Job Description
Nemours Children's Health - Delaware (previously Nemours/A. I. duPont Hospital for Children) is seeking an experienced, evidence-based counselor/therapist to join our School-Based Health Program team. Nemours is excited to partner with the Christina School District in Wilmington, Delaware to deliver high-quality, team-based medical and behavioral health care in a new early education or elementary school-based health center (SBHC). Our team brings together a deep commitment to the community with pediatric clinical excellence to care for patients in the locations that are most accessible to them.
We are seeking a counselor/therapist for the role of Behavioral Health Therapist. Our ideal candidate would be skilled at working with interprofessional medical and educational teams to deliver integrated, evidence-based care. This position will focus on providing group and individual evidence-based therapy, consultation and coordination with teams, screening and referral, and professional development. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as well as a desire to collaborate with other professionals in a mission-driven environment to make a strong positive impact on the community. Opportunities for telehealth and remote work may be possible.
Day to day activities will be within the SBHC team, and the therapist will also be linked to the Division of Behavioral Health at Nemours. Teaching, training, and mentoring are core values in our Division and these efforts are supported and encouraged. Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy program
  • Independent licensure or license eligible in Delaware (LCSW, LPCMH, LMFT)
  • 3-5 years' experience working with children and/or adolescents.

About the Team
At Nemours, we've developed a large, expansive network of rehabilitation professionals (including physical, occupational and speech therapists, audiologists and rehabilitation engineers) who work to help children and teens move through all phases of recovery - from acute injury and developmental needs to wellness programming.

We use an integrated approach to care, starting with our strong partnerships with Nemours' primary care and physician specialists.
The Therapeutic & Rehabilitative Services department offers:
  • inpatient services - acute care and comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation
  • outpatient services - single-service therapy, comprehensive therapy day programming, wellness programming
  • specialty programming - aquatics, seating and mobility, augmentative communication, vestibular rehabilitation, splinting/wound care, Interactive Metronome, feeding and swallowing, audio verbal therapy, integrative listening (ILS), sports medicine, concussion rehabilitation
